The saying goes that all good things must end; I'd rather see it as things changing in order to create space for new blessings and opportunities. This past school year was filled with lasts, last grades posted, last class picture taken, last sol test given, and the last time I packed up my classroom for summer break. There is no sadness, how can there be when you are doing what you are called to do. My time in a classroom was wonderful filled with many memories but God is calling me in another direction. Knowing this to be true and walking in that faith is scary. Especially for someone who has spent a good portion of their life dreading changes and mourning what was perceived as losses rather than seeing it as a chance for growth.
Fortunately now when I become fearful, I bend my knees and remember where my strength comes from. I am embracing this next chapter of my story with an open heart to better receive all that awaits me.
